Parnian Arjmand is a second-year vitreoretinal surgery fellow and the chief fellow at the University of Toronto, Department of Ophthalmology and Vision Sciences. She completed her undergraduate and masters' degree in Immunology at the University of Toronto, Trinity College, medical school at McMaster University and ophthalmology residency at the University of Ottawa. Outside of the hospital, she enjoys long-distance running, cycling, hot yoga, and exploring Toronto’s beautiful ravines.

Imran Jivraj is an ophthalmologist who specializes in Neuro-Ophthalmology and Oculoplastic surgery. He completed a Bachelor of Science degree at McGill University followed by medical school at the University of Toronto where he was awarded the Golden Stethoscope Award. He completed a residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Alberta, fellowship in adult and pediatric Neuro-Ophthalmology at the University of Pennsylvania, and a second fellowship in oculoplastic surgery and the University of Toronto Oculoplastic Surgery. He is currently a lecturer at the University of Alberta. He enjoys seeing interesting cases alongside learners at all levels, performing research to improve healthcare delivery, and inculcating a humanistic approach to medicine.

Jason Kwok is a PGY4 ophthalmology resident at the University of Toronto and is currently serving as the co-chief resident. Jason has a strong passion in ophthalmic medical education. His research is focused on finding novel methods of teaching ophthalmology to medical students. More recently, he created www.OCTcases.com, a free website that teaches optical coherence tomography (OCT) in an interactive and case-based format. Jason is also a firm believer in the importance of interdisciplinary care and regularly teaches ophthalmology to primary care resident physicians and pharmacy students. Outside of medicine, Jason enjoys playing badminton and travelling.

Michael Nguyen obtained his medical degree from McMaster University and is currently completing his ophthalmology residency at the University of Toronto. He was elected President of the Council of Canadian Ophthalmology Residents (CCOR) for 2021-2022. He is interested in medical student education and is a co-founder of VISCO.

Michael Wan is a paediatric ophthalmologist at Sick Kids Hospital and an assistant professor at the University of Toronto. He received his medical degree from Western University and completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Toronto. He completed a fellowship in paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus, with an additional year of training in neuro-ophthalmology, at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School.

Seema Emami completed an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Social Studies of Medicine at McGill University and attended medical school at McMaster University. She is currently completing ophthalmology residency at the University of Toronto. Her interests include equity and diversity in medicine and global health. When not working, she enjoys exploring Toronto while running and biking.

Dima Kalache came as an international student to do an undergraduate degree in Biology at McGill. She then continued to complete her medical school and ophthalmology residency at McGill where she was chief resident. This was followed by a fellowship in glaucoma and advanced anterior segment with Dr. Ike Ahmed in Toronto. She is currently working at Cité de la Santé as a glaucoma specialist and a faculty lecturer at McGill.

Jonathan Micieli is a Neuro-Ophthalmologist at the University of Toronto. He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and Vision Sciences and the Division of Neurology, Department of Medicine, University of Toronto. He completed medical school at McGill University, ophthalmology residency at the University of Toronto and neuro-ophthalmology fellowship at Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia. He is active in medical student and resident teaching and has won numerous teaching awards. He is also interested in neuro-ophthalmology research, particularly in the areas of idiopathic intracranial hypertension and the use of optical coherence tomography and has published over 120 peer-reviewed articles.

Dr. Tanya Trinh is a fully qualified ophthalmologist in Cornea, Cataract and Refractive surgery at Sydney Eye Hospital and Save Sight Institute in Australia as a Staff Specialist. Dr Trinh completed her ophthalmology specialist training under the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists. She then embarked upon an advanced two-year fellowship in Cornea, External Diseases and Refractive Surgery at the University of Toronto. She has published over 20 scientific journal articles in national and international journals.
